The last couple Olympics have been so fun to celebrate as a family since the kids are getting old enough to really get into them. The only bummer is that the coverage starts so late in the evening! We kicked off opening ceremonies night with an Olympic dinner (a few cute ideas from pintrest).
After dinner, Andrew set up an Olympic ball throwing event which was really fun...
...until this cute little blonde fellow took off with one of our targets!
And then the people 8 years and older got to stay up to watch the opening ceremonies (or most of them).
Every night for the next 2 weeks, we'd gather in front of the TV (which Aaron rigged specifically for this occasion to get some basic stations since we haven't had cable for years) to watch the highlights of the day. We particularly liked the men's snowboarding (freestyle and half pipe), ice dancing & women's ice skating (Aaron would contradict this vote), women's skeleton (go Noelle Pikus-Pace!!), bobsled, and men's hockey. These men and women were truly inspiring to watch with their stories of struggle and dedication to their sports. Two more years and we'll be ready for more!

you are AMAZING. My kids didn't even know the Olympics happen. According to them that's from ancient Greece.
