Work is good for kids. We probably don't make ours do enough. Sometimes they like it and a lot of times they don't, but we still do it. Fortunately the original owners planted many, many things around the house that provide opportunities to work. Unfortunately the original owners planted many, many things around the house and we have to remove some because there are just too many!

Oh yard work, I'm glad my kids aren't the only ones to have a love hate relationship. Mostly they love burning branches and hate everything else. I'm super glad you have your kids get in on the working even though it's painful for everyone. I can't wait to see the yard when we get there.
