Summer, Oh Yeah!

Lake Anna with the Orrs, Boulters, Deskins, (Charnicks and Katzenbergers not pictured)
Fossil hunting at Westmoreland on a steamy July day.

Leo loved throwing rocks...Adam wanted to use them as phones.

Andrew and I spent the most time searching (and I was really good at finding shark tooth shaped rocks), but in the end Porter and Jane were the ones who found real shark teeth.

Jane and Adam at first were disgusted by all these dead crabs floating around, but then started collecting them.
Chatham Manor in Fredericksburg-a pre-revolutionary war estate that was a residence, a Union military stronghold in the Civil War, a hospital, an entertaining house, and now a National Park.  The gardens were gorgeous and the house charming.

Jared always wanted to go to the Chatham house with us, it looks beautiful. Sharks teeth!! That wins you the award for coolest mom ever. Sounds like summer is amazing up there. Hope the smiles last until school starts.
