Once upon a time my little sister Rachel got pregnant...and it made her sick, very sick. After her fourth time to the ER for dehydration (and consequent blacking out and head trauma) they sent her home with an IV. She was so sick that she only got off the couch to pee which would then make her throw up...for an entire month. It didn't look like she, or my parents who took care of her while she was so sick, would be able to visit like they had planned before she got pregnant. We prayed a lot while Rachel was sick and miraculously, the week before coming, she stopped throwing up. She even started sitting up for parts of the day. The day before she flew to Virginia she removed her IV and voila, here she was, at my house!!! A miracle indeed!
Leo caught a cold the day before they arrived and promptly passed it on to his Aunt Rachel and cousins, Henry and Ellie. So Grandma stayed home with all the sickies on Mother's day, but we did manage some photos.
A cold on top of just returning to the land of the living, for my sister, kept us close to home most of the visit, but we relished every minute we spent together. Poor Grandpa had both a stomach bug and a cold while he was here, so he spent a lot of time resting in front of Fox News. Leo and Henry played non-stop. Ellie had exciting hair many mornings. A wheel chair let us escape for a little shopping and a few walks. Grandma gave us a good laugh, driving the crazy cart with those loooong legs. We made it to several parks, Aquia Landing (the 'beach'), Potomac Mills Mall, Messick's farm for strawberry picking, the Fredericksburg Trolley, the temple, and the elementary school for Adam's kindergarten play.
We pretended to be happy on the way back to the airport, but it was sad to say goodbye after such a rejuvenating visit. So thankful for this family that I will never get my fill of!

I am so glad that you got such a wonderful visit. That was miraculous indeed.
I would use her recovery as evidence that she had to stay FOREVER! Sister time is so fun. P.S., your mom is adorable! I love the one of her on the plasma car.
