The Jaredites come to visit

Aaron's older brother Jared and most of his family came out to visit this summer.  We use to spend a lot of time together when they lived here with their first 4 children and then they moved to Utah and had 3 more.  We had a delightful time getting to know their "second" family.  Despite the abundance of small children, they like to be on the move so we crammed a lot into the 5 days they were here.  We did 2 rafting runs down the Rappahannock, the first in the blistering sun and the second in the pouring rain (only about 30 minutes apart-that's how volatile VA weather is!)

We played games and splashed in buckets and did a bit of piano.

On Sunday after church, we met with the family up North at Monica's house.
Another day we met cousin William Bennett to give us a tour of his archive work on the National Mall.  The kids especially loved rolling the shelves in the cold storage room.

Then I brought the little people home for a nap (barely cause we almost ran out of gas!) so the big people could enjoy more museums.

More quality playtime and talk time, just like the old days!

The next day we headed to the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum.  Jane found the 'Plane Jane'.  The kids were also fascinated with the Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb.

The four siblings-a great looking bunch!
