I was fortunate to attend my Mother's family reunion this summer. It was so nice to see all my siblings and my Aunts and some of their children-its been a looong time! We stayed in a lodge in Spangle, WA and on the front porch was this boot bird feeder and several squeaky babies inside:)
Mom, Dad, Rach and her kiddos picked me up from the airport and we hit the ground running. After buying all the food we set up at the lodge and everyone else started trickling in. Unfortunately the AC wasn't working too well so we were hot, but at least we were together! After some games (which included Grandma falling through some rotten wood on the deck?!!) and a yummy dinner with salad fixing grown at my cousin, Marci's farm, we surprised Marci with a baby shower! They were very appreciative.
Then Ruby Rouge graced us with an appearance-hilarious!
The next day we had 'Barn Day' at the original barn that my Grandpa rented and used for all his farming years. It's over a century old-that blows me away! Mom gave us a tour-the following 3 are all pics of the loft where they kept the hay. The basketball hoop my grandpa hung for his son David is still there. I never met David-he passed away from Leukimia when he was 11.
We spent most of our time in the lower level eating, looking at pictures, taking pictures, playing animal sound games, and talking.
When we were done at the barn we drove a few miles to see where Grandma still owns some fields that she has farmed for her. It was these golden fields and Grandma's generosity that sponsored our reunion. Thank you Grandma!!
