I feel kind of silly being one of 'those' parents who makes 5th grade promotion a big deal, but Barrett is such an extraordinary school that goes above and beyond, I just have to!!
Her Academy graduation was over the top of course. Their song was "High Hopes" that they sang and danced to. There was a thank you video with thank you posters that each student did for their parents. They did a glow in the dark balloon drop and light stick give-away to the song "I Wanna Dance in the Dark". Jane also gave one of the speeches on a new topic 'the Spirit of Academy", where she came up with a poem about how to take the Academy values with them throughout life-so proud of our girl!

Fifth grade promotion for the entire 5th grade was special as well. Jane received the Principal's award for her hard work, leadership, and strong moral compass. She will miss all these caring staff and her friend Mrs. Austin.

As a tradition, Mr. Reichard takes his class on a camping trip after school gets out. Since our family doesn't do sleep overs, the older boys only stayed for the evening activities. Jane was spoiled because I was able to come along this time as a chaperone. They had a fantastic time playing in the lake, making mountain pies, and playing with all this glow in the dark stuff. So blessed!
