So we had to go down to Richmond to get Porter's cast off...long story which I won't go into...so to make it not such a waste of gas and time we also visited an early American estate while we were there called Maymont Park and it did not disappoint! This lovely fountain greeted us as we walked down the front path.
This picture should really be a scrath and sniff because there were so many rose bushes (planted in the background) that the fragrance was overwhelming-it was just lovely!
Porter did his cool walk down the cool walkway. He was actually wondering around by himself a bit since the rest of us were apparently embarrassing him:)
And then we came to this!! And of course everyone took their shoes off to climb around a get a little wet. And of course Mom got nervous because the 'adventurous and strong enough to carry a hurt child 'parent wasn't with us and I was sure someone was going to slip and crack their head open. Thank goodness they didn't.
These blooms were bigger than Jane's head--gorgeous!
We all agreed we would have loved to BE the early American's living on this estate:)
