Exploring Rappahannock River

The Saturday before Memorial day we decided to go check out the Rappahannock river.  It was beautiful weather-mid 70's-so we couldn't resist.  The first spot we found was rather rocky so we ate our picnic lunch and jumped around on the boulders a bit until we found a baby copperhead...then we decided it was time to find a new spot of river.

A little further down we found a family friendly spot of beach which the kids had a blast in.  Leo mostly stayed in the enclosed area where the water was slightly warmer.
Porter and Adam started tunneling a breach to the sand enclosed pool spot...because they wanted to cold water to rush in???

I held on very tightly to the camera the whole time, as it was my only insurance against getting thrown in by Aaron.  He has always had a thing about getting me wet-hoses, drips in a cup, pools, you name it.  Andrew did a little digging too and then he and Porter tried floating in the part of the river that had a stronger current.

When we were loading up to come home, an ice cream truck (which we desperately try to avoid) drove through the parking lot and Aaron noticed they had dollar items.  I thought all ice cream trucks were required to rip people off--we have proved that theory wrong and it was delicious!
