Breakin' Into Summer

Literally!  Porter was running backwards during an activity the last week of school and landed on his arm wrong.  So instead of having a field day and then enjoying his 3 days off for passing his SOLs, we spent an entire day traveling to and from, on the phone, and in appointments with doctors--it was anticlimactic to say the least.

His arm really started feeling better once the cast was on.  In fact he even decided he felt well enough to participate in his final choir concert that evening-a pleasant end to a crazy day.

Andrew and Jane ended the year with running awards for the most cumulative miles in their classes in PE as well as being on the top ten list for having the fastest mile in their grade.  This talent comes from Aaron's side of the family:)

This is Jane's good friend Mrs. Austin-she also happens to be the principal.  This woman is truly amazing and shows in everything she does exactly how special kids are to her.

As happy as the kids are to have summer come, they are always so sad to say goodbye to their teachers.  Andrew couldn't even muster a smile and when they got home, both of them were in tears.  Thank goodness for popsicles and neighbors!
