We were fortunate to celebrate a very nice Thanksgiving with friends and family this year. For most of November, there was at least one sick person in our house, but luckily the germs let up enough for us to be together for turkey day.
I've been missing a tradition that Aaron's extended family started of running the "5K turkey trot" the last few years, so a friend and I decided we could do our own Turkey day run closer to home which was much more convenient for our circumstances. Thanks Sue! Then we came home and finished the jello salad and pecan pie I was in charge of and headed up north to be with Aaron's family.
Another tradition, our thankful turkey didn't happen while we were sick, so we decided to do a thankful Christmas tree instead. On the ornaments we wrote what we were thankful for. Some of those were sunshine, music, good health (especially after our long round of illnesses), Heavenly Father, Adam, Daddy's job, grandparents, chocolate, legos, the Book of Mormon, Monopoly, school teachers, and Jesus to name a few.
