Our Cousin Joshy
The first two months of this year have been extremely different than we thought they'd be mostly because Porter and Andrew's 5 year old cousin Joshua that lives up the highway was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. This is Aaron's brother and his family which we are very close too. It was VERY unexpected and has taken up most of our thoughts and concern. Fortunately a miracle was in store for their family. With 500 people praying and fasting during his surgery the doctors (the second best group in the country for children's brain tumors) were astounded to remove a tumor completely different from what pre-surgery MRIs showed. After 2 more surgeries and maybe 6 or 7 weeks of therapy, relearning everything from focusing his eyes to swallowing to walking, Joshua has returned home. He still has a bit of work ahead of him, but we are so thankful for the miracle he is.
All the cousins posing by James' 1st birthday cake at the Rehab center. Andrew, Claire (Joshua's younger sister), Porter, James (Joshua's younger brother), Candice (Joshua's Mom) and Joshua. We got to visit Joshua and his Mom several times while they had to stay in the rehab center.
Hanging out with the cousins. James and Claire stayed with both sets of grandparents while Candice was with Joshua, and since we live right around the corner from one set, we got to play with them too!

It's great to hear things are headed in the right direction for Joshy. They are so lucky to have you nearby.
