Schools Time

Our morning school routine added another twist this year.  Porter's bus comes almost an hour earlier than the elementary bus.  Here are some first day smiles for this middle schooler.  He came home and told us that his PE teacher remembers teaching his aunt and uncle a couple decades ago!  All in all, it was a good day.  He's pretty comfortable opening his locker in the time alotted and absolutely relieved that he doesn't have to wear short shorts and tank tops for gym class, like someone told him.

These two cheezers were up early and are pretty much guaranteed a fun year with the awesome teachers they have, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Dosser.  It looks like Barrett Academy is here to stay so we're looking forward to more service projects and family nights.

After school we had fruit smoothies.  Jane told us that she got to hug Mrs. Jones (her kindergarten teacher) and sit by Mrs. Austin for a while during lunch-these were the highlights of her day.  Andrew said Mrs. Smith has a lot of good games to play-he found this out since it was too hot to go outside for recess.  He did say he is going to miss being on the back hall (where K-2nd are) and hugging his old teachers on the way to his class-the pains of growing up.  Bottoms up to a great school year!
