Daddy came home early from work on our anniversary and said, "pack a bag, we're going away!" And literally that's what we did! Luckily his mother was available on short notice to spend the night with the kids. We went up to National Harbor and explored the sights since we'd never been. There was a lovely musical, light up Christmas tree outside between the shops and restaurants, lots of art and animal sculptures along the walkways, a ferris wheel, and the grand Gaylord Hotel.
The Gaylord hotel put on a spectacular light/music show with this suspended tree and fountain below. Later we (legally) snuck up to the lounge on the top floor and sipped our sprite on the balcony. Such a FUN night!
